What is Go L.E.A.D.?

So, you might have seen our latest poster around our social media platform and must be wondering what is Go L.E.A.D.? what is L.E.A.D.? We are here to help you to clarify!

What is L.E.A.D. Program?

The Student Services Department here at Subang campus has been working on the L.E.A.D. Program for two semesters now. The program was launched January 2018 and has over 20 students participating in a series of projects. In brief, the L.E.A.D. Program aims to develop students' soft skills such as leadership through voluntary experiences. Our main focus is to provide students with the relevant exposure through community service and building projects.

As L.E.A.D. stands for "leadership, engagement, action and development", we aim to provide just that to the students in hope for them to grow progressively throughout their duration within the program. It is a fairly flexible program where students are able to shape their own learning based on the given timeline. We do have projects organised by the Student Services Department from time to time that sometimes engages with external parties. Students under the program will be able to not only organise these projects but also engage with people of various different parties. Not only that, students will also be mentored by our team leaders who are SSD staff members.

For more information about L.E.A.D. and how to participate, do check out our webpage under Get Involved tab. You will find our handbook there! What is Go L.E.A.D. campaign?

Go L.E.A.D. is organised by the Student Services Department and the L.E.A.D. students. Go L.E.A.D. Week is a platform to highlight the growth of our students and at the same time building an awareness for a specific issue within the Malaysian (and abroad) context. In July 2018, this will be our first time organizing the campaign. During the duration of the campaign, we aim to spread awareness on three different themes. The themes are:

a. Animal Welfare The team will focus on spreading awareness on animal cruelty, adoption and limiting animal breeding by promoting for spaying and neutering.

b. Gender Equality The team will focus on spreading awareness on equality in receiving access across all sectors for all gender.

c. Access to Education The team will focus on spreading awareness on the lack of opportunities for rural, underprivileged and special needs children in having access to quality education in Malaysia.
